Will we be walking all through the session?
Walk and talk therapy is a dynamic form of therapy, much like a metaphor for life, where we experience changes in our environment and needs. We might walk or sit as we continue our conversation.
Do I need to be fit?
No, it is not physically strenuous. Generally, it is slow to moderate walking and you will decide the pace. However, please check with your doctor to make sure you are physically fit to undertake this and disclose any medical conditions during our initial session.
What are the locations?
The locations for walk and talk therapy are Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park and Punggol Park.
Would confidentiality be an issue?
It may be difficult to ensure confidentiality to the same extent as office sessions. We will discuss this and any other concerns in our initial session, which will be done online via Zoom or in person. Walk and talk therapy will be available only on weekday afternoons where the parks are quieter. It is also important to note that the therapist and client are responsible for their individual safety.
What if the weather is bad?
The weather can be unpredictable in Singapore. We will continue if it rains lightly. To ensure safety and effectiveness of the therapy session, we will need to reschedule if the weather gets severe.
