Frequently Asked Questions

How many sessions will I need?

I feel nervous about seeing a counsellor.
Is that normal?

It depends very much on your goals and individual journey. It is recommended that you allow yourself at least 4 to 6 sessions before deciding if counselling is suitable for you.
It’s entirely natural to feel anxious, especially if it’s your first time seeing a therapist. Don’t be afraid to ask any questions you have about the process. Going for therapy is a courageous act, so be proud of yourself for taking that first step.

How frequent should sessions be?

What's your cancellation policy like?

Counselling sessions that are frequent enough are most effective in helping you achieve your goals. A weekly session is recommended for the first 5 appointments, and subsequent appointments can be held fortnightly.
All cancellations and postponements must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled session. For walk-and-talk therapy, sessions will continue if there’s light rain but will be postponed should there be severe weather.

Are all sessions confidential?

What can I expect in the first session?

Please be assured that all information shared during sessions are confidential, except for disclosures required by law to protect your safety.
We’ll start with an intake session to understand your history, goals, and challenges. This time allows us to establish a foundation for the work we’ll do together and ensure we’re aligned on your healing journey.

Do you offer trial sessions?

Do you take international clients?

Trial sessions are not available, but we can arrange for a free 20-minute consult via Zoom.
Yes, I’ve worked with clients of different nationalities and backgrounds. I look forward to meeting you online, wherever you are in the world!
